The Finger Lakes Boating Museum will present an event entitled 'Outboard Motor Restoration Workshops'. This is a series of workshops that address the various tasks that go into the restoration of an outboard motor. We have just opened an outboard motor restoration shop and are looking for leaders for the different topics. The Museum is located at 8231 Pleasant Valley Road, Hammondsport, NY 14840. April 28, 2018 Lake Wallenpaupack, PA [Greg Ellsworth - Knuckle Buster Chapter]

Each spring we eagerly await this meet, as a time to get together with fellow collectors for a day on the water. Because this is one of the first wet meets of the year, there is always plenty of pent up enthusiasm to test all those recently completed winter projects. This meet is truly the start of the outboard boating season and an opportunity to meet on the water. Last year's slow race on the water will be replaced this year with the "How Slow will it turn" event. Greg will brina test barrel for the event. Any 2 cycle, single cylinder vintage outboard motor can participate. The motor with the lowest logged RPM will win. We are all looking forward to great weather and a day full of boating activity. May 5, 2081 Solomons, MD [Calverty Marine Museum]

This year's Solomons Maritime Festival is scheduled to run from 10 am to 5 pm. Taste traditional foods, learn how to pick crabs and shuck oysters like the pros, enjoy local gospel and old time music, see Chesapeake Bay retrievers in action, watch model boats skim the waters of the boat basin, talk with traditional crafts people as they demonstrate their skills. Free 30-minute cruises on the Wm. B. Tennison. For the kids, there will be toy boat building and more. The event includes the Antique Boat and Marine Engine Show which features exhibits from over 30 collectors of antique and classic boats, and vintage marine outboard and inboard engines. Lake Lenape Park features a convenient dock area, a spacious beach, ample parking and clean facilities. The event begins at 8 am with registration, coffee and donuts. The $7 registration fee includes lunch. This is a great location for those coming from either Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania or New Jersey. June 2, 2018 Hamlin, NY [Jason Baxter - Western New York Chapter]

The 21st Annual Hamlin Wheel Fest Cruise-In & Antique/Classic Outboard Motor/Boat Display & Swap Meet presented by Monroe Extinguisher Company, Rochester, NY and Co-Sponsored by Spurr Dealerships and Mann Insurance Agency both of Brockport. Goodie Bags & Dash Plaques for 1st 150 Car Entries, Award Plaques, loads of door prizes! Boating participants of the Western New York Chapter-AOMCI Antique/Classic Outboard Motor/Boat display will be eligible for trophies in the following categories: Best Outboard Motor, Best Wooden Boat, & Best Non-Wooden Boat in addition the door prizes. The 1st 10 Outboard Motor/Boat Entires will receive a Goodie Bag and a Dash Plaque. A large area has been set aside for boats and motors. The Hamlin Wheel Fest Cruise-In & Antique/Classic Outboard Motor/Boat Display is open to the Public with NO Admission Fee and begins at 10am and wraps up by 3pm, but the festival continues until 10pm. Again this year is the WNY-AOMCI Chapter is hosting an Outboard Motor/Boat Swap Meet during the event. June 2&3, 2018 Standish, ME [Lincoln Davis/Bill Andrulitis - Pine Tree Boating Club]

Enjoy two days of boating on a beautiful stretch of the river. A privately owned campsite reserved for the group with a private boat launch. Race boats, and all others, welcomed at this meet. Come one day, both days, camp overnight! Overnight camping fee: $20. Daily launch fee of $5 [waived for campers]. No camper hook-ups are available. Lunch provided each day, for a nominal fee. June 9, 2018 Leesport, PA [Robert Bragner - Knuckle Buster Chapter]

Bob Bragner will host his second annual Blue Marsh Lake meet. There will be other organizations using the park facilities that day, including the Keystone Water Rescue Team of Berks County, Blue Marsh Outdoors, and the Greater Philadelphia Search and Rescure. We will be located in the Dry Brooks Day Use Area, Parking lot D, Lakeview Pavillion, Boat Beach. The Dry Brooks Boat Launch is located at 132 Palisades Drive, Leesport, PA 19533. July 24 - 26, 2018 Weld, ME [Rick Matson - Pine Tree Boating Club]

We have a group campsite with a sandy beach on the shore of Lake Webb, a gorgeous body of water surrounded by spectacular mountains. The Mt. Blue State Park staff have been very welcoming of our club. Wonderful facilities, clean bathrooms, hot showers, a great boat launch and plenty of parking. August 5, 2018 Hooksett, NH [Joel Bergeron - Yankee Chapter]

This year's wet/swap meet will be located at 67 Merrimack St., Hooksett, NH. The meet will start with running your boat in the calm waters of the Merrimack, featuring approximately 14 miles of navigable deep water with no obstructions. The venue will then move to the 2-acre shop of Runner Outboards located 5 minutes from the boat ramp. Ample parking for vehicles with trailers is available. Coffee and donuts available in the AM. A cookout/pot-luck style lunch will be served at 1pm. Bring items to swap and an appetite! Attendees are required to pay $5.00 if only eating breakfast, or $10.00 if staying to eat lunch. Those who bring food for the potluck are only required to contribute $5.00 (no fee for lunch). August 18 - 19 Mystic, CT [Gary Mower-Yankee Chapter]

The transition from sail to engine power was a momentous event for the maritime industry and the world. Experience it firsthand at the 27th annual Antique Marine Engine Exposition at Mystic Seaport Saturday and Sunday, August 18-19, 2018. Collectors from around the country will show off full-size and miniature 19th- and early 20th-century marine engines and inboards, outboards, steam, gasoline, diesel, electric, and naphtha engines. More than 300 engines will be exhibited in the Henry B. duPont Preservation Shipyard and many will be operated for your viewing and listening pleasure. A large selection of marine models will also be on display to delight the young at heart. Join us for this noisy, greasy, fun event!

Richard Gruskos will host the last Knuckle Buster Chapter meet of 2018. This has been a popular meet for many years and is expected to be again this year. The meet starts at 8:00 AM at Kessler Ellis Products, 10 Industrial Way East Eatontown, NJ 07724. Take the Garden State Parkway to Exit 105 for Hwy 36 East, At the first light make a right turn on to Hope Road and go approx. 1 mile and then take a left on to Industrial Way. Go straight through the next light crossing over HWY-35 and make a right turn on to Christopher Way. Turn into the second driveway.
